Noticing water leaking from the bottom of their hot water system, the tenants of a property called their landlord to advise them of this. The landlord instantly gave Jim’s Plumbing a call having used us before and happy with the reliability and comfort of a 24/7 business with their multiple investment properties.
After speaking to the landlord our call centre was then able to call the tenant of the property and advise the time frame of which we would be attending.
The customer was happy with this, especially since we could give them a 30 minute courtesy call prior to our arrival. Our Jim’s plumber arrived on time and inspected this Dux Proflo 3 star unit which was leaking water considerably. After a quick look by our expert plumber we soon isolated the water and began draining the unit, while putting together our quote for a replacement of their old unit.
Our plumber called the landlord of the property and explained the situation to both the landlord and the tenant, it was decided we would replace it with a Vulcan 135 litre 4 star hot water unit – an extra one star than that of their current Dux Proflo system.
There was very little gas pipework alteration required in the change of the two of the two brands. We tested the existing pipe work to ensure no leaking or dropping in pressure before doing the hot water system replacement. Then tested again once the system had been installed and issued the customer with a certificate of compliance then and there onsite. Then ensured the customer everything was done to gas standards.
We then commissioned the unit – setting the burner pressures. The landlord requested on this occasion to keep the old rusted tank that was leaking rather than having us deposing of it as we usually would at a dump.
The Vulcan 135 litre gas storage – free loader, comes with a 5 year manufacture warranty and is manufactured in Australia. The tank consists of a steel tank which is lined internally – this prevents enamel to prevent corrosion.
Vulcan also gives a 12 month warranty on the parts and labour. It is important with these units that the gas fitter use the approved brackets that fasten the top of the unit to the wall to prevent the unit from tipping over.
The landlord then opted to pay with a credit card over the phone with our plumber and we also were able to issue a full invoice onsite for tax purposes.
