Current Vulcan Gas 135 Litre Storage Hot Water System
One of our loyal customers called Jim’s Plumbing today concerned with their gas hot water system. For a few days during the week, the hot water throughout their house was very inconsistent. Now on a Saturday morning, they had no hot water at all. Not being able to wait it out until the weekday due to the cold weather our customer requested our assistance – adding they were happy to find a trustworthy 24/7 plumber which included weekends and public holidays. We were able to have a hot water technician attend later on that same morning.
Our plumber did a full inspection on the Vulcan Gas 135 litre storage hot water system and found that the thermocouple in the hot water system was faulty. A thermocouple is an important safety device for gas storage systems. It shuts off the gas flow when no pilot light flame is detected, due to it being blown out etc – to eliminate any chance of a gas leak.
However, if this part is faulty it will still shut off the gas flow even if the pilot light is able to be ignited. The best solution is to replace the whole thermocouple to ensure no further issues with this area of the hot water system. Our plumber was able to replace this part of the unit, is a stocked item in our van.
The benefit of using a bigger brand such as Vulcan, Rheem, Rinnai, Chromagen and many more – is a lot more plumbers are aware of these types of big Australian units and faulty parts are easy to be replaced. This particular Vulcan gas storage hot water system is built with quality materials and high strength steel to withstand any harsh Australian weather conditions, as well as being able to withstand varying water and heating cycle pressures.
This unit has an energy rating of 4 stars and is available in both 135 litre and 170 litre storage tanks, as well as natural gas and LPG models available. This unit is proudly made in Australia and is adaptable, making it easy to be install and easy to live with. The Vulcan gas storage hot water system has a full 5 year warranty on the cylinder, a 3 year warranty on labour of the cylinder, and a 1 year warranty on all other parts and labour.
After the work was completed we checked taps in the house to ensure our customer had hot water, and thankfully it did. No big replacements needed! Our customer also uses us due to the added benefit of mobile EFTPOS machines and not having to leave to get cash out. Our customer service manager called our repeat customer shortly after the job was completed and expressed that yet again. They were completely satisfied with our plumber and the overall service!
