Vulcan Freeloader 135 Litre Storage Hot Water Unit Fixed and Ready to Rumble

One of our valued repeat customers made a call to the Jim’s Plumbing call centre with a problem that had occurred with their old Dux 135L gas storage system, It seemed to not be producing any hot water at all. The customer had advised the call centre operator that they were a repeat customer and had Jim’s out several times for various household repairs such as a leaking tap, a blocked toilet and the very Dux unit in question, that was causing the trouble.

A plumber was sent out to inspect the existing unit to assess what can be done in order to get it working once more. Upon arrival, the plumber found that the Dux unit was in very poor shape. The unit was leaking severely from both the overflow and the top of the tank, the thermocouple and universal controller had both failed together – a common problem for older style storage units, and the internal cylinder had a large split up the side, caused by rust.

The plumber advised the customer of all of these issues and also explained that the split in the side of the cylinder, was a fatal problem which was not able to be repaired. The customer understood that the Dux system had expired and was taken through all the available options for replacement. Insisting on another storage system, the customer selected a Vulcan Freeloader 135 litre storage hot water system.

These units are a popular choice among Australian homes due to their strong reputation and trusted Vulcan name. Vulcan has been producing gas hot water and household heating appliances for several years and have revolutionary systems incorporated with storage units, making them an industry leader with storage hot water.

The quote was accepted by the customer and thanks to the same day service offered to our customers, the plumber was able to locate a unit from the nearby supplier and begin installation immediately. An extended gas line as required as the gas inlet location was slightly different to that of the previous system, this was included in the overall quoted price.

Within the afternoon, the customer had a brand new hot water service installed and a one year warranty on the plumber’s workmanship and all parts supplied. The customer also had the satisfaction of the 5 year warranty on offer from the Vulcan manufacturer.
