Vulcan 135L Gas Storage Hot Water System Service
Jim’s Plumbing attended to a Vulcan 135L gas storage hot water system. Our client called us at Jim’s on 1300 068 480 this morning saying that there was no hot water coming out of the tap when they were turned on. This customer has had our plumbers out on several occasions to do all types of jobs, so he knew our plumbers are fully qualified and have plenty of experience dealing with hot water systems every day.
Luckily were we able to have a plumber attend within the hour as he was just finishing up his lunch and was only a short drive away. Once the plumber arrived on site he found the hot water unit was a Vulcan gas storage, manufactured in 2004 with model number 641135NO. The plumber carried out a thorough investigation of the unit as it had not been serviced in some time. Upon the plumber’s assessment, he found a faulty temperature and pressure relief valve to be the problem.
Once the plumber completed his installation of the replacement valve the customer did a full service on the unit. Vulcan recommends that a minor service be completed annually and major services are to be carried out every 5 years. Vulcan also suggests you only use Vulcan brand replacement parts however this may not necessarily be covered by the warranty. All of our vans are fully stocked, so sourcing the correct part was done with minimal fuss which is less costly to the client.
Unfortunate for some older systems that have been discontinued or companies that are no longer manufacturing, it does make it harder to stock brand name parts but we do carry standard or universal parts. As you can see by the pictures provided, the unit is in very good external condition for being 12 years old, this combined with the internal parts of the unit still being in good working order the customer did not have to replace the system this time around, however, the customer knew of our no-obligation quote on a new hot water system when the system eventually need to be replaced.
