Vulcan 135L Freeloader Storage Hot Water Thermocouple Replacement Service
We received a phone call just after 1 pm today from one of our repeat customers. He advised that once had got home from work, he realised that he had no hot water while trying to do his dishes. The customer advised that he had recently noticed the pilot light has been struggling to stay alight, and he had been having to relight it on many occasions but this time it would not relight after blowing out yet again.
As the customer was a shift worker he needed to go to sleep so he could be up for his next shift that night. The customer requested an appointment later in the day as he still needed to have it fixed so the family could have hot water again. Because the plumber was on another job before being able to attend this customer, the customer was very happy to hear that the plumber could give a courtesy call 30 minutes prior to arrival.
Once our fully qualified Jim’s plumber attended and assessed the Vulcan 135L freeloader hot water system, he quickly determined that the thermocouple was no longer working and had to be replaced. As all our vans are fully stocked at all times, replacing the parts was done with minimum amount of fuss. Unfortunately the unit was just over 1 year old the part was therefore not covered by its warranty. While the customer was understandably disappointed by this and was then anxious about how she was going to make payment for the repairs. The customer was glad to hear that he could pay via cheque as this way was easiest for him at the time.
