At Jim’s Plumbing today our call centre received a phone call from a customer who was referred to us by her parents. She had some taps that had been leaking for some time and was after a qualified plumber to supply and install some mixer taps as she had standard hot and cold taps and want to upgrade. As we had a plumber just about to start his day, we were able to have the plumber to the address within the hour.
As the plumber was already at the home, the customer took advantage of the plumber’s ability to complete both plumbing and gas fitting work. The customer had the plumber to look at her hot water system and it was running out of hot water intermittently. The unit was a Rinnai infinity 26 gas continuous flow unit. All of our plumbers have over 5 years’ experience and deal with Rinnai system each and every day, making them excellent in fault finding in these systems.
This particular system had a faulty thermocouple that we were easily able to replace for the customer. As a mobile service, we have both Rinnai branded parts as well as universal parts for those older systems which are longer being manufactured but don’t necessarily require replacement.
Rinnai has made many hot water heaters since they were founded in the early 1900’s. The Japanese manufacturer doesn’t only make instantaneous flow hot water systems, but also other gas appliances such as tankless units, home heating appliances and boilers. With the company being around for almost 20 years you can be assured that this manufactured has tried and tested only the best systems for the diverse Australian climate.
In 2006 the Rinnai infinity 26 was discontinued since its manufacture in 2004 and replaced with what is now called the Rinnai V26 external. The Rinnai V26 has an energy star rating of 6.1, combined with its continuous flow technology, will save you money over the life span of the unit. The new Rinnai V range has an improved minimum start up flow rate, saving water and will ensure your Rinnai Infinity unit is proofed for future water-efficient tap wear.
Once the plumber had completed his work he was able to provide the customer with a free no-obligation quote as part of many services we provide, should the system fail as they eventually do. The plumber also placed a sticker on the current hot water unit and gave the customer a magnet with our number should she need us again for anything else in the future.
