Current Rheem Stellar Hot Water System
Our customer today came home from work and unfortunately had no hot water through any of the taps in his house – it had been inconsistent for a little while but now no hot water was running at all. They were quick to get in contact with their landlord to explain the situation. The landlord then gave us at Jims Plumbing a call on 1300 068 480 as they knew we are a 24/7 business after using us for their investment properties and own house in the past.
We were able to arrange a time for our plumber to meet the landlord on site as they wanted to be there. We sent one of our many fully qualified and experienced plumbers, it even turned out that the landlord had met this plumber before for a different issue for another property and the landlord was happy to see a familiar face – happy with the work done previously.
Our plumber inspected the Rheem Stellar gas storage unit and were able to determine the cause of the problem rather quickly. The thermocouple was faulty causing the pilot light to be unable to stay lit due to no gas flowing.
The thermocouple is a safety device that – if detects the pilot light is off – will shut off the gas so none is flowing when a flame is off. Unfortunately, if the thermocouple is faulty it will shut the gas off even while a flame could burn. This is a common fault for gas storage systems and one our plumber had come across previously.
Landlord also explained to us onsite that they were looking to have a new continuous flow hot water system installed at the tenant’s property as they had one themselves installed by us and loved it. Our plumber did offer the same day installation of a new unit but the customer opted for just a fix right now, so we provided a quote for the landlord for supply and install of a Chromogen Eternity T20 continuous flow hot water system, which is valid for 30 days.
The current Rheem Stellar gas storage hot water unit currently installed has an energy rating of 5 stars – this great energy efficient system will save customers from high gas bills. With a first hour capacity of 330 litres of hot water and a high recovery of 200 litres of hot water an hour.
This unit also has a full 10 year warranty on the cylinder and superflue, a 5 year warranty on labour of the cylinder and superflue and a 1 year warranty on all other parts and labour. This unit also includes mains pressure – which means multiple people can have a shower at any given time.
Rheem Stellar suitable for a household of 2-6 with a capacity of 160 litres and is available in natural or LPG gas models.
