Replace Rheem 50 Litre Electric Storage Unit in Cupboard

Jim’s Plumbing attended recently to inspect a hot water heater that was not producing any hot water.

The system was a Rheem 50 litre Electric storage unit, which was hidden and concealed away inside a kitchen cupboard. These smaller models are most commonly found inside small units or apartments as they are considerably easy to keep out of sight. The system itself was only about 8 years old but due to its size and heavy usage, the element had burnt out.

The thermostat had also become faulty and both needed replacing to get hot water back to the apartment. The plumber gave the customer the option to repair the existing unit or replace with a newer, more efficient model. The customer decided to go with the latter and replace the unit to save the hassle of doing it several years later. Our plumbers are experts in hot water units and work with a wide range of brands, sizes and types.

Rheem is the market leader in Australia for hot water systems, dominating the market when it started in 1939. This is due to being a household name these days, but also due to their wide range and their reliability that comes with it.

Our plumber recommended replacing the older model with a newer 50 litre storage unit as the customer was happy with the brand. The new Rheem compact electric is the current flagship model for Rheem when limited space becomes a factor. With the decision made, the plumber was able to remove the old unit and pick a new one straight away for installation. The customer was thrilled as they had not had hot water for days and could enjoy a warm shower that night.

The customer was not planning on their hot water system ceasing and was worried about how they could pay for it. The plumber suggested our interest free option and the customer was approved on the spot. Now they can enjoy having hot water and not worry about it hurting their back pocket.

You get all of this and the peace of mind knowing all parts and labour are covered by a 12 month warranty if your hot water stops working. Jim’s plumbing are ready to help. Call one of our friendly customer service representatives.
