Install New Rinnai Hot Flow 250 Litre Electric Storage Hot Water Heater

Rinnai Hot Flow 250 Litre Electric Storage

Recently we installed a Rinnai Hotflo electric 250 litre storage hot water unit at the property of one of our valued customers.

The storage capacity of the existing Rinnai Electric Storage hot water service was 250 litres. Steam was coming out of the top and as you can see from this photo the unit was leaking water extensively as evidenced from the wet ground.

The client made enquiries to Jim’s Plumbing about the sort of unit required and the sort of brands he recommends that are best suited for his hot water needs.

For example, the customer was considering installing a gas hot water system, however, due to gas not being connected to the property, this was not an economically viable option.

After weighing up the options and after the plumbers recommendation, the customer and the plumber agreed that the best option was a Rinnai Hotflo 250 litre electric storage hot water service.

The plumber was able to source the replacement hot water service and install it straight away so that hot water could be used as quickly as possible.

One of the advantages of this model is that the unit is a single element. This means the water is heated from one single element from the bottom of the tank, and as it heats the hot water rises to the top of the hot water tank. The outlet is located at the top of the tank where the hottest water is, and this is where the water is drawn off going to the taps.

Another advantage of this storage hot water units is that it has a hot relief valve fitted into the tank. Its main purpose is that should the thermostat fail, the water is not boiled to such a high temperature that could potentially rupture or split the tank. Instead, the hot relief valve will open up and discharge the water safely into the adjoining drain. It is very important that hot relief valves are replaced every 5 years as recommended by most manufacturers.

For peace of mind, Rinnai also warranties their Hotflo cylinder units for 7 years so you will not have to worry about purchasing another one for a while.

Most times a needing a new hot water heater is an unanticipated expense. To make things easier we offer interest free terms so that you can have hot water straight away.
