Aquamax Kwikot 40 G40N
A customer’s Aquamax G40N developed a fault in which the pilot light was found to be continually going out. Much to the customer’s frustration in being unable to relight the unit, the call was made to Jim’s Plumbing to see if anything could be done about it. The customer was in amazement as the time frame between the initial call being made and the time the plumber arrived, was so short they thought they had only just gotten off the phone!
The plumber assessed the 150L storage system and found the piezo igniter had corroded out causing the fault. It was then determined that one of the relief valves had been leaking slowly over time, making it undetectable from the outside. After the plumber had explained the situation to the customer, the cause and solution to the problem was easy for the customer to understand. Two parts were required to be replaced. The customer began to schedule a time for the plumber to return for repairs as this is what they believed the process was, but much to their surprise, the plumber had all the required tools and parts on board the fully stocked van to repair the unit at once.
The customer overjoyed with the fact that the plumber was able to carry out repairs immediately, was very interested in the process of disassembling, removal and replacement of these very common parts. During the repair, the fully qualified plumber walked the customer through what was being done and why the components had failed to begin with. The temperature relief valve and piezo igniter were replaced with a new high performance parts which carry a warranty of 1 year along with the plumbers workmanship.
Within an hour the system was repaired and back to full working use. The customer utilised the mobile EFTPOS machines carried on board the plumbing vans, and was issued a full printed report of the entire job, right from the computer terminal in the van. A copy was emailed for convenience as well.
They were then contacted by the customer service team at head office, to follow up the experience they had received.
